On Friday, Feb. 10, Chief Justice Douglas Combs administered the Oath of Office to Patrick R. Wyrick as Justice of the Oklahoma Supreme Court, District No. 2, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of Justice Steven Taylor. Governor Mary Fallin selected Wyrick, a fourth generation Atoka native, following personal interviews with the nominees submitted to her by the Judicial Nominating Commission. Wyrick has served since 2011, as solicitor general for Attorney General Scott Pruitt, where he routinely litigated cases before the Oklahoma Supreme Court and represented the State of Oklahoma in federal appellate courts. - Oklahoma Supreme Court Network
